For the second straight week, the nation’s average price of gasoline has increased, rising 9.7 cents compared to a week ago and stands at $3.18 per gallon, according to GasBuddy® data compiled from more than 12 million individual price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country. The national average is unchanged from a month ago and is 23.3 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has increased 16.1 cents in the last week and stands at $3.649 per gallon.

“With Israel and Iran trading attacks over the past week, oil prices have continued to climb —and gasoline prices are following suit, rising at a pace we haven’t seen since last summer,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “Few pumps have been immune, with nearly all states seeing gas prices rise over the last week. Additionally, average diesel prices recorded their largest weekly jump since August 2023. Now, with the U.S. launching attacks on Iran, oil prices are likely to continue trending higher. That said, I do not expect the apocalyptic spikes being circulated by some so-called influencers on social media — many of which are wildly inaccurate. For now, motorists should anticipate a continued steady climb in prices, with the national average likely to increase another 7 to 15 cents this week, while diesel could rise by 10 to 20 cents."

In early Monday trade, WTI crude oil was giving up its Sunday gains and was actually trading lower, falling 6 cents to $73.78 per barrel, up from last Monday’s $71.85 per barrel start. Brent crude oil was also in the red, down 15 cents to $76.86 per barrel, up from $73.12 per barrel last Monday.

The EIA’s Weekly Petroleum Status Report for the week ending June 13, 2025, showed U.S. oil inventories fell by 11.5 million barrels, and are about 10% below the seasonal average for this time of year, while the SPR rose 200,000 barrels to 402.3 million.

The same group of people who bitch about $.10 increase in gas prices are the ones who gladly wait in line 30 minutes every morning at Starbucks to pay six dollars for a small cup of coffee

Nice try

largest weekly jump since August 2023

Please look up prices this time of year from 2021-2024. You can’t really have a “large jump” if prices were already high

ETA: June 2022 was the highest gas prices of all time?

The fricking hoarders are coming out of the woodworks.

I don't really give a shite about a $0.10/gal increase, but I had to go to 4 different stations this morning before I found one where I could actually fill up.

I bought a tank full 3 weeks ago for $2.19 a gallon with reward points ($2.39 without). Same place was $3.09 this morning with reward points. I suspect its mostly because of summer vacation demand but could be wrong.
