The only two albums I've paid any attention to this year are Parasomnia from Dream Theater and Hurry Up Tomorrow from The Weeknd.

Saw the movie on early fan screening night. Then went to two out of the three shows at Metlife Stadium.

Good call on the Car Seat Headrest. Love that one too.

Ty Segall Possession
Billy Wood Golliwog (WARNING: this album contains RAP)
Turnstile Never Enough (rocker)
Folk Bitch Trio Now Would Be a Good Time (doesn't drop for another month but the three singles out are very good)
Tim Heidecker High School (Sirens of Titan sounds like it wss written just for me-if you lke Kurt Veil and Ty Segall will probably like this).
Darkside Nothing
Lucius Lucius
The Bones of JR Jones Radio Waves

I chated on a couple. Black Keys have an album coming out too.

I forgot one:

S.G. Goodman Planting by the Signs. From KY reminds me of Katie Crutchfield. Jim James produced her first album.

I’m screwed ever since the days of vinyl or CDs.
Oh, and FM radio. lol

Discovering new music isn’t as much fun for me.

Don't forget, you had to invest in an entire album/cd only to find out you only really liked the single and FM was the same shite over and over again unless you lived in a big city. Also, my funds always limited my album/cd buys. Today, I can have immediate access to an artist's entire catalogue. Discovering new music is easier than ever w/ platforms like Spotify. My Discover Weekly playlist they made for me this week was awesome.

Lifeguard- Ripped and Torn

That's a pretty good one... It's hand in hand with Kai's other record released this year.. Sharp Pins - Radio DDR.. though that leans more power pop..

Horsegirl - Phonetics On and On

The Tubs - Cotton Crown.. Probably my most listened to new release of this year..

I haven't really bought much new music this year...

I liked the Lifeguard I heard from the link The Seaward provided. I’ll check out the whole album later.

yeah.. them and Horsegirl have got a lot of PR here in Chicago the past couple of years, being that they are local.. both are heavily influenced by 90s indie/noise bands..

The kids are alright!
