Standing ovation for Braswell for his first at bat on Saturday

My buddy sent me a social media post from some "media" account saying there is a push to give Braswell a standing ovation when he comes to bat on Saturday. I think it would be an awesome gesture and give the guy some confidence.
Didn't this happen for Thompson in 2023?

TV guys Wednesday said Braswell had recently seen a fan wearing his jersey and it meant a lot to him because he knows he isn’t the most popular guy on the team
I know his hitting has sucked this year, but I absolutely appreciate what Braswell has contributed to the program the last couple years. He may not be the most popular, but I think it’s cool if fans let him know that he is appreciated.

And he acknowledged he has had a terrible stretch lately. Seems like a really good teammate, has a great glove, and we know he CAN do it. He hit .300 in SEC play last year. His swing is just lost. Confidence could go a long way for him.
Also, yes, he needs to be in bunting school until first pitch tomorrow

Brad Cresse was 1-12 with 8 strikeouts before winning a NC with an RBI base hit. Why not Brazzy?

How can you not root for this kid?

Why not Brazzy?
ETA: Braswell seems like a great kid and is an incredible defender that should remain in the starting lineup at least against lefties. I am rooting for him.

I liked having Braswell last year, I know he wasn't a tommy tanks replacement, but he was just fine last year hitting the ball
I can't explain this year, but atleast his defense didn't slip. If anything, I'd argue he's gotten better defensively.
I'm not saying he's going to come out and bat .500 for the series, but if he gets back to .300, tigers win this easily in 2 games IMHO

That would not give him confidence. It is a faux ovation. Every single person here when he didn’t bunt was pissed. When he struck out with 2 on. It is the same old shite
And for the milllionth time has no one been watching!? Brasswell has stopped playing vs right handed pitchers!!!!! The fanbase is putting this kid and his problems well above the team. It is so strange. Thank God Jay wants to win because the fanbase is fine with losing

He needs to be on his bunt game this weekend

that bunt nearly cost us the game.

I love Braswell, but he's not seeing the ball well at all and every time he comes to the plate with runners on, its a huge momentum killer.
He's definitely one of the reasons we are where we are today though. Hope he can finally bust out of the slump.

We are comparing Brad Cresse and Brasswell now

It would let him feel support. Everyone understands that Braswell’s defense has been key to this teams success. He’s struggled at the plate mightily. The show of support and encouragement would be a high character move by the lsu fans and may go a long way for Braswell and his confidence at the plate

Not a collective "we".
Jordan Thompson is the comp here.

well, we're not going to make a trade this late in the season, might as well support him
