Best Vehicle for Extensive Business Travel

I'm looking at a job that would require frequent travel within a geographic region. Average annual mileage somewhere around 50k.
The OT is obviously made up of the elite among us, so I wanted to get the board's opinion of the best commuter vehicle when considering the following criteria ranked by importance:
1) Smooth, Quiet Ride
2) Reliability
3) Gas mileage
4) Space
5) Resale

I did the same travel for close to 20 yrs in the Carolinas.
Get a used Lexus ES350 based on your price point. Has all the bells and whistles stock and was made in Japan. Nice enough for clients and comfortable enough for long rides. About 27mpg highway.
I’m on my second one. First had 250k miles and still ran strong. Current is a 2017 with 130k and runs like new. No maintenance issues with either.
Outstanding car.

What business / role? Appearances matter sometimes. I wouldnt want to be driving around shipyards or oil sites in a volkswagen.

My wife travels a lot for work and we are looking for something that her mileage reimbursement will pay for. Not economical to drive her suburban all over the place.
Leader in the clubhouse is the Mazda cx5. Cheap, good mileage.

You might be kidding but I’d seriously drive an Aztec. It was ahead of its time.
