If they’d have walked Jones, they wouldn’t have been able to lose the game in the traditional spectacular Arkansas way.

Traditions are important

Righty vs righty with Jones. Statistically it’s the right call.

We’ve gone from “Jones should never be allowed to bat again” to “why did they pitch to Jones?”….gotta love the rant

They were obviously pitching around him trying to get him to chase and if he walked, they would have lived with it.

Plan was to give him anything and get him to chase like he does sometimes. The pitch he hit was off the plate and jones is just so strong.

Big mistake for sure. LSU also shouldn’t have pitched to Thomas with first open.

This. I think they just wanted the picture to stay out of the zone away. He got a ball in just enough and he was able to get around. I think the plan was there. It was just shitty execution.

He has had some clutch hits, but also strikes out a lot.....guess they were hoping for a strikeout so that they wouldn't make another error.

However, the guys behind him are lefties and good clutch hitters.

Trusting this plan with a freshman reliever, for all the marbles, is pretty bold though. I would’ve just walked him. But I see both sides.
