We wouldnt see Root, Gaeckle, Jimenez or Wood tomorrow, but Wood going 9 innings Monday kept their pen in relatively great shape.
Wood 9 IP 119 pitches, 83 strikes (Mon)
Root 6.2 IP 125 pitches, 77 strikes (Sat, Tue)
Gaeckle 6 IP 90 pitches, 60 strikes (Sat)
Jimenez 3 IP 40 pitches, 28 strikes (Tue)
—
McEntire 1 IP 33 pitches, 21 strikes (Tue)
Gibler 1 IP 21 pitches, 16 strikes (Sat)
Foutch 0.1 IP 8 pitches, 3 strikes (Sat)
They’d likely start Landon B. and bring in some combo of Carter/Bybee/Gibler in relief, Foutch/Coil to close.
Landon, Carter, Gibler, Foutch, Coil all pitched in the Sunday game we lost to them during the regular season. We were able to chase Landon and Carter out of the game after 2 innings a piece in the first 4 innings but Foutch, Gibler and Coil shut us down when they came in and got the win. Those last 3 combined for 3.2 IP, 13 BF, 7 Ks, 1 BB, 1H, 0 runs

Excellent thread. Will also be interesting if Jay goes Pearson or Brown tomorrow

At least they’ve burned their best 2 starters and potentially their top 2 bullpen arms assuming Jimenez goes over 50

Do not put it above DVH to throw Gaeckle on short rest.

Updated for Jimenez. looks like they’re saving him to possibly use Thursday I assume

Root and Wood are going to be the only guys Arkansas wont pitch. Murray state and ucla didnt put up a fight.
We probably have three guys burned for tomorrow

Roots ERA is 3.3 with > 5 days rest. ERA drops to 7 with < 5 days rest.
We won’t see Root again.
We might see Wood Thur to see if he can capture lightning in a bottle twice. That would old be desparation.

Man I love Pearson, but Brown is the better player in pretty much every aspect.

I would be shocked if we see Wood on Thursday. Two days rest after 119 pitched, no way.

But Pearson has that random clutch factor and the “I’ve been there” something you don’t count in stats or player but it is something.
