Do we think Eyanson was tipping pitches in the first inning yesterday?

UCLA is a very good hitting team and only one of those "hits" was hit hard. The others were soft grounders that were in the perfect spot.

He has had slow starts and always improves throughout the game. How many balls did UCLA even hit out of the infield, 1?

They scored 3 runs and had one hit in the outfield..
Just shitty luck but that’s what they do

I think they hit 5 balls that may go for hits 1 every 5 games and they all happened in one inning

Nah, it's not unusual for him to get some traffic in the first inning and then settle down from there. He usually doesn't let 3 runs in during traffic innings, he's usually nails once the runners are aboard, but that's kind of UCLA's bag is a bunch of cheap singles to get runs in and not strike out a lot.

They did the same shite today too. So frustrating watching that BS.

Yeah usually Yeskie goes out first so for Jay to go out something was noticed

Well I hope they do it a lot, a lot, a lot against Arkansas

No, UCLA wasnt even hitting hard, just soft infield hits for the most part.
UCLA was just making contact and it led to success.

Yeah, and that is why they were hitting soft grounders that happened to find some holes

Eyanson wasn't throwing his best pitch (curve) at all in 1st inning. That was his issue. Opposite was Evans. Evans came out throwing his good stuff early against UCLA. Eyanson did not. That's what I saw. However, I did think Eyanson had found his groove after 1st inning and he was dialed in ready to put up a string of scoreless innings b/f the rains. Hopefully, he will adjust next outing and throw more variety of pitches early and often.

Nah, that was a lucky inning. Bunch of soft hits that just found the open spots.

Exactly. Same thing happened to Williams when he came in. The walks obviously didn't help.
