Best place to bring a car to sell

One of our kids has a 2010 car we are trying to sell. It has a huge dent on one side, cosmetic damage, and the engine and oil lights are always on. Where is the best place to bring it in BR to get some cash for it? We understand it will be scrap pricing, but we are hoping for a couple of thousand.

You can do it in your underwear at givemethevin.com

I have heard Clunker Junker will come get it, fill out a form, they send it out for bids, then have someone come get it. But I personally have not used it.

serious response, put a for sale sign in the window and get it anywhere near the local Messcan population, best shot at getting over a grand for it

Seriously. I had an old car some years back that wasn’t driveable but I hadn’t had time to deal. They actually knocked on my door to buy it.

My nephew works at a scrap yard in Port Allen. If you want to take it there I can give you more info.

that's what happened with my son's truck, he didn't take care of it, limped it home and died as it rolled in and took its last breath, some messcans were doing a job at my house that took a few days and one of them asked about it, I said make me an offer, they did, and towed it off that afternoon

Does the AC work? If the car runs and the AC works you should be able to get at least 2k for it. FB marketplace has worked well for me in the past.

Anything older than 10 years and the dealership used car lot won’t even buy it. That’s what I was told when I went to see how much they would give me. I said “you wouldn’t even give me $500 for it?” Nope!

We donated a 2014 Ford escape with a (second) blown transmission to cars for kids. It got us 2500 in write offs. Surprised it sold for that much.

You didn’t sell it for that.

You'd be lucky to get a grand as a trade in even,
No one wants a busted car

Truth. It was seamless and took less than an hour from showing up.
Go online, and answer their questions honestly. They'll make you an offer based on your answers. You'll have a week to accept it. If you want to take their offer, just bring a copy of it and and your vehicle title. (And your driver's license/photo ID). They inspect the vehicle to verify it's in the shape someone claims it is.
You leave with a check in hand. Easy as it gets.

Carmax was only gonna give me $200 for a used Accord. I said nope! Sold it within a day for $800.
