Comparing Skenes and Morrison from Coastal

Just now put up the comparison of Skenes’ numbers and Coastal’s Morrison during their game like it didn’t matter that one did it in the SEC and the other did it in the Sun Belt. Respect Coastal, but come on man, really?

Yeah that was a wild comparison… but it has us talking about it and that’s the point

Morrison is good but he won’t be the hands down best pitcher in MLB in two years

Morrison has 200+ strikeouts. That’s impressive. Where is the comparison? I’m not seeing it.
Skenes 1.69 ERA, 122 innings, 209 strikeouts
Morrison 2.15 ERA, 96 innings, 95 strikeouts
Skenes 1.69 ERA, 122 innings, 209 strikeouts
Morrison 2.15 ERA, 96 innings, 95 strikeouts

Skenes has become the measuring stick for all college baseball pitchers for the foreseeable future.

They put it up on the broadcast during the OSU/CCU game

Dude has 95 strike outs this year. That is statistically not in the same realm of two guys we currently have on staff in the hardest conference in baseball. I’m not trying to knock the guy, but he statistically isn’t as good as Kade or Anthony, so shouldn’t be mentioned in the same paragraph as Skenes.
*Disregard, you went back and edited to correct yourself. No debate here now. lol.

I believe the comparison was 6 innings pitched with 1 run or less allowed.

But it’s the last time it’s happened.
Would you rather them not reference Skenes or not say anything at all?

idiots, Skenes is head and shoulders better than Morrison

Can you provide some context on what the comparison was? I find it hard to believe they were trying to say that Morrison is as good as Skenes.

I guess target found the only statistical category that they match up, because every other individual category is not close. Skenes is far superior. Can you imagine Skenes pitching against Coastal’s schedule this year? He would have had 250 strikeouts and maybe a sub 1.0 ERA.

Either right before or after they said he might be a second rounder

That is unfair. Skenes is an outlier of outliers.

This plus in Omaha. It’s fine to compare that. Quit being pussies.

Wasn't saying he's as good as Skenes. Just that he had 10 starts this year with certain stats and that was the most such starts since Skenes had 12 in 2023. That's all it was

Why go back to Skenes? Our boy Kade did it just last night.

Thank you for the info. Seems like people are looking for something to be upset about because they see his name on the same tv screen as Skenes
