Course conditions are always brutal, you just have to get lucky with good lies to win on a course like this. I mean Burns even got screwed in the fairway.

It’s the hardest major as far as scoring for sure. Let me rephrase.

It’s does a great job of separating the top players of the week from the others. Once you get in the top 10, you just gotta catch the right breaks. Unless you just have an all timer type of weekend like Rory at Kiawah

Lucky like Spaun? Like stuffing one only to have it hit the pin and roll back 49 yards?

PGA has the best field for sure

Masters you only have to beat like 60 legit players

Why don’t you ask Phil Mickelson?

You can also add Sam Snead to the US Open non-winners list. He won all of the other Majors but not the US Open…..

Phil only has himself to blame for what happened at Winged Foot.

I never understand what people mean by this. None of them are easy to win because they have all the same players for the most part. Masters is the most exclusive so I’d say it’s easier for the elites to win.

The Open is easier for the journeyman to win because luck plays the biggest factor. There’s times at the open when if you’re on the wrong side of the morning/afternoon draw, you’re fricked.

The reasons you listed can be used to argue that it’s the hardest.

Masters is different because of the field, and the venue doesn’t change.

I guess the point I’m trying to make is luck is the most involved therefore it’s the easiest because skill isn’t AS important.

Obviously skill still matters a lot. I mean that tee shot on 17 and the entire 18th hole by JJ was a ridiculous show of skill and composure in the face of pressure.

Rory at Kiawah

That was the PGA Championship

I was there. Kiawah has never hosted an open. 2 PGAs and a Ryder.
