Should they develop some sort of “Time Out” for non felons?

If you’re convicted of a felony you go to jail. Stress free life besides the violence/rape.

Could they do a voluntary camp type deal for non criminals that are just having a tough time of it? No bills, no responsibilities. Live in a tent and eat galley style meals.

Maybe some type of volunteer opportunities if you want something to do. It seems like this could reduce overall crime rates while simultaneously improving mental health among the population.

The comite diversion could use some day gangs breaking big rocks into small rocks.

Menial physical labor outside for x days.

If we put nonviolent criminals on the side of the roads picking up litter, we would have the cleanest roads in the country.

If it was not just sitting around and waisting life, there would be many less prisoners.

Picking up trash day after day, farm work, etc would have people considering their actions way more often

I think every person should have a system of cards. Whenever you commit petty crimes they take one of those cards, say......a green one. With another crime committed they take your yellow card, maybe. One more crime.......there goes what we could make the orange card. Now, you're sitting on, I guess a red card will do. You're close to being fricked, but not yet completely fricked. But, buddy, you better mind your p's and q's....because when they take your last card, the red one......you're all the way fricked.

This is just a hypothetical idea, spitballing.......ya know?

I’m cool with alternative sentencing as long as they have some consequences. Community Service is underrated as a punishment for non violent offenders. Clean the roads, mow the grass of old ladies, etc.

True, although they’d call it “modern day slavery”. God forbid a White supervisor…

If it's not court-ordered, ie some kind of criminal behavior, why would any miscreants subscribe to such an idea? You can't even get decent people to volunteer to do community shite these days.

So like a regular homeless tent city but with worse food.

In the depression this sounds like WPA camps etc.

They actually built some cool shite.
There are bridges in N.O. city park built by them in 30s.
