He said clients have been “calling in a panic — asking if they should be looking for ways to cut out potentially undocumented workers.” (He added that his clients do not know themselves to be employing any.)
Employers are “very scared — folks in LA, particularly,” said Bruce Buchanan, a leading immigration lawyer based in Nashville.

I think this will be more difficult to enforce. As stated in other threads it is easier than people think to juke the system and get by e-verify.

Kinda weird that being undocumented in the US is less of a crime than hiring an undocumented person. Seems like it would be hard to ever prove an employer knowingly hired an illegal. Unless the government started doing sting operations with illegal applicants.

Well to clarify, I think it will be difficult to do this with smaller businesses as they probably aren't on the radar or have obvious "flags".
Based off some of the reports and video footage there are a decent number of large companies that have knowingly hired dozens to a hundred of illegals. So yes, they should be raided and charged/fined.

If you eliminate demand for illegal labor there will be massive self-deportation. This is the solution neither party wants to acknowledge.

There are thousands of small businesses whose only option for employees, through no fault of their own, are Hispanics. When I owned a small business I had a level where Hispanics were the only people applying for the job. It wasn't always like that. In fact when I first opened my business I had no Hispanics. But over time they were the only applicants. There are thousands of businesses that will have to close down if these draconian measures are enacted. This will never be allowed to happen.
Small business with no say in border security and too small to hold sway with politicos shouldn't be decimated because of the sins of others

This is the way.
Getting busted for hiring illegals should be prohibitively expensive. $1M/ea. until you get to the first 5, and then it should be $5M each, at a minimum.
This should be a prosecution that bankrupts companies who have been skirting the law.

Illegals use stolen identities and the employer is wiling to look the other way when its pretty obvious that id fraud is occurring.

That's really easy to say when you find a business that is not doing anything to determine their employee's status.
But you want to see sentiment turn overnight? Start freezing assets and arrest owners of businesses that unknowingly hire illegals.
E-verify is not 100%. And if a business is using the very system that the government has established and then seizes the assets and arrests people for using that very system that the government tells us to use, yeah, that dog ain't gonna hunt.

are there not programs that allow small businesses to hire immigrants who can work for a period of time then rerturn home, wash rinse, repeat thus allowing you to have the employees necessary to do the work?
(Hint, there are. I know of people who use them. If they can do so, why cant you?)

Take away the incentive to come here (employment) then they will self deport...

How about, locking up the mother frickers that let them in first.
Then go after the mother frickers that help them acquire fake ID's.
