Not a movie, but they do have a World War II submarine in Galveston if he's into submarines. I'm not sure if you can still go inside, but it's worth checking out if you can. However, if you have claustrophobia, I wouldn't suggest it. I don't, and I was still getting nervous while I was in there. I'm not sure how they did it back then; it's small and cramped inside. You probably had to be a specific size to serve on one back then, just like ball gunners.
