Why are people so certain Israel will defeat Iran or at least bring them to heel

They struggled with 20-30k Hamas troops. Iran boasts just shy of 1M troops w/600k active duty.

Israel has 170k active duty troops with 465k reserves.

Population of Israel: 10M
Population of Iran: 91M

Math ain’t mathin’ here so why are you so confident? One beer per person please.

Because they know DC wants another forever war.
Ukraine didn't workout for them.

Having superior military equipment goes a long way

But if this turns into an all out war I don't have the slightest clue of how it ends

Israel also has ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon.

It will be interesting to see how it unfolds but I have a feeling hundreds of thousands will die

They’ve already neutered their nuclear program from the reports

Since Israel and Iran don’t border each other your math dosnt matter. It’s all about airpower where Israel holds a decisive edge.

Or it turns into a few days of bombing each other before returning to “normal”. They did this last year too

Depends on how Iran wants to retaliate

Israel might not have intended for this to be a boots on ground affair but they don't make all the rules

Iran has many Arab enemies who tacitly support the Israelis

They know they can drag the United States into it

Israel would need continued support from the US to sustain a longterm war with Iran and that would basically be the lend-lease problem that gets the United States brought into the war.

Their fight against Hamas is unconventional and urban warfare. If they weren’t worried about killing civilians and the hostages, they could’ve ended Hamas by October 8.

The odds are the US will not hesitate to resupply Israel with whatever they request or require.

Many of these governments that lean Israeli are not really representative of their population's disposition on the matter. The big thing I've wondered about is if Israel getting into a protracted war with Iran could destabilize all these monarchies.

Israel has more aircraft and more advanced aircraft than Iran including F-35s. They flew into downtown Tehran without being observed. Israel also flies the F-35 in “beast mode” with external arms. They also have F-15s which are still formidable aircraft.

Iran has Russian jets and still has obsolete US jets.

So in an air war Israel has a huge advantage. Neither country can project power so number of troops is meaningless.

Will Iran be deploying their civilian population and blending the army in with them?

Certainly possible and probably the best outcome
