With the news dropping that 500 Marines may be sent to LA for the riots I decided to look into it more.
Initial reports were that 2000 Marines from Camp Pendleton may be used. It has since changed to 500 Marines, and they are out of Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center 29 Palms, CA. 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines is the unit that are in a prepared to deploy status should they be necessary to augment and support.
As of Sunday afternoon local time, 300 members of the California Army National Guard’s 79th Infantry Brigade Combat Team were in Los Angeles County. They were deployed to the cities of Compton and Paramount, as well as a federal complex in Downtown Los Angeles.
Task & Purpose
2nd Battalion, 7th Marines (2/7) is a light infantry battalion of the United States Marine Corps. They are based at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms and consist of approximately 800 marines and sailors. The battalion falls under the command of the 7th Marine Regiment and the 1st Marine Division.
2/7 Commanding Officer is Lieutenant Colonel Brandon Salter, a native of Valdosta, Georgia.

Marines or any other branch can’t br sent anywhere until requested in by the Gov. I know this because I was with the force sent in during the Rodney King riots. Posse Comitatus doesn’t allow it.

But this time it’s foreign invaders not citizens. I don’t know if that means they can be deployed or not.

What judge in that district is going to give that sentence? We allowed the courts to get political, our mistake.

You watch. If he tries to use any branch of the military to enforce laws illegally on US soil it will be disastrous for him.

I think he can get permission for Congress to suspend habeas corpus and declare martial law. Then he can send in the troops.
I say do it. Get Congress to give him the OK or they can do it themselves and then send in the troops.
We can point to numerous Mexican nationals waving mexican flags and easily justify under the invasion clause.

Suspend habeas corpus using active duty military.....
Disregard Posse Comitatus......

Exactly. Terrible idea and OB is already starting to potato more and more. Will be a very bad look for him. If national guard and police can't handle this, then we are completely fricked as a country.

Supposedly it will be to guard actual federal assets. ETA, statement from NORTHCOM
I still think we should just give each Korean with a retail store an AR10. Proven commodity.
