What's the point of big arse catcher taking a big lead at 3rd with no outs?

Stupid. No outs best hitter at bat and any ball in play gets you home. Dumb.

Bigger question is how the pitcher can get away with starting his motion and throwing to third while leaning forward.

Score on a slow grounder

But you can’t get picked off with no
Outs.

It was a secondary lead and a balk

Getting picked at 3rd is retarded.

It wasn't a balk.

What did he do that made it a balk?

It wasn’t a balk. He was closer to third than home. It was a good move. Lefties do it all the time.

It sure looked like he started toward the plate and veered to third at the last second.

That's on Jay. He can't let that happen.

No issues wit hHernandez.

He has to be able to trust 3B coach on that

What? Is jay the 3rd base coach?
It's on the player then the 3rd base coach.

c. While in a pitching position, throw to any base in an attempt to retire a runner without first stepping directly toward such base; or throw or feint a throw toward any base when it is not an attempt to retire a runner or prevent the runner from advancing; 1) The pitcher, while touching the pitcher’s rubber, must step toward the base, preceding or simultaneous with any move toward that base. The pitcher is committed, upon raising the lead leg, to throw to the base being faced, to second base or to the plate. When throwing or feinting a throw to a base not being faced, the pitcher must step immediately, directly and gain ground toward that base.

Just because it happens regularly doesn’t make it correct.

He was stepping more towards third than he was towards home. It looked fine to me. None of this changes that Hernandez got caught napping.

It wasn't a big lead. He just caught him not paying attention

Looked like a perfectly legal pickoff move according to that rule

It won’t happen in Omaha now and that is good. Can’t afford dumb moves up there.
