Just ran the bases. No posing. No bat flip. No words with the umpire. Just ran the bases like he had been there before.
Refreshing to see IMHO

Did he at least stare down the pitcher? Seems like a wasted opportunity.

Reminded me of how the game was played years ago.

He has been there before and lots of other places too; he’s a legit 23 year old adult male acting like an adult male should.
He knows his role, understands his future in the game and is doing what his team needs from him.
His path from hyped up draft bat to “team”
Guy is noteworthy and in this day and age, the fact he didn’t transfer ect is symptom of good head on shoulders/personal awareness.
Idk the guy personally, so he may have me fooled and be total west Monroe nugget, but he seems alright to me. Glad he’s at LSU.

Noticed that too except I was saying cmon man, celebrate lol you earned it! I can certainly appreciate some poise though. I'm ready for some damn baseball! Cmon 5 pm!

He thought he popped it up lol he’ll flip it a little bit when he knows it’s gone

Curiel and Milam did the same. No bat flip. No words with the ump. They just ran the bases.

Yep will be coaching lil league with his brothers and teaching it the right way.

Because he knows its to be expected of him and acts like he's been there. That's a reflection of his parents.

Not going to lie, I’m pretty sure he thought it was a pop up. Even this year he’s shown some emotion when he hits a HR. I’m fairly certain he thought he popped it up. shite I didn’t think he had a chance for a HR off the bat. But it kept carrying and left the yard which was awesome.

The celebration model, lol. I joke, but I did love Barry’s humility. I’m fine with players celebrating with their teammates.

Great young man from a great family. Has always done it the right way. Never been a showboat.

He’ll never go viral on X with a normal trot around the bases

Back in the day when they had bench-clearing brawls, beanballs, and guys charging the pitcher?

One of my all time favorite Tigers

Yet at some point he realized it was a homer and just trotted around the bases without beating his chest or being an a-hole.
