LaToya the Destroya Is traveling to France on your dime Nawlins

LaToya Cantrell, New Orleans' mayor, is listed as a speaker for the Ocean Rise and Coastal Resilience Summit in Nice, France.
Her travel was not previously announced, and we are working to find out when she plans to leave New Orleans and when she plans to return

What always confuses me most - who in the frick is inviting her to speak at anything? Have they never attempted to listen to her before?

Progressives all over the globe cater to the LCD. That is why they bend over backwards to tell you that people like LaToya, Harris, AOC, etc, are all "brilliant minds that should never be questioned".

I've said this before. I hate her with every fiber of my being, but I do have some tinge of respect for just how little fricks she gives, and just how much she realizes that she can get away with anything

I’m guessing (just trying to think from the perspective of a progressive climate change activist) that her “unique perspective as the mayor of a city full of marginalized groups that is also below sea level is an important one to hear in order to raise awareness about the impacts of climate change”

Hopefully there will be video of this presentation. There is 0% chance she is qualified to give a talk on Climate Change or Oceans or anything else

that’s pretty much it…New Orleans, Miami, Houston, etc along with low lying coastal cities elsewhere are at great risk from even a marginal increase in sea level, which has been fluctuating since there was land next to sea. There are entire cities in the Mediterranean basin underwater now that used to be occupied. So that’s why these climate change conferences seek out leaders of at risk cities.
The real question is…what does Latoya herself bring to the table other than word salad and a hefty bar tab

Exactly. And I should say I’m not trying to minimize what costal cities are facing. That’s real, but it’s often covered in a layer of grift and ideology…which is probably the actual reason she’s going.
