Justice Jackson defending the white people's right to assert antidiscrimination claims

Justice Kagan defending gun rights

Justice Sotomayor defending the Catholic Church from interference.

I am legitimately surprised by this.

I have doubts this is accurate. Do you have a transcript?

Perhaps the USSC isn't as radical as has been projected?

Perhaps the radicals voted this way knowing they would be in the minority to give the illusion they are not radical.

As a whole maybe not, but Jackson has largely just ignored the Constitution in many cases that I have seen to get any result she desires

Yeah, I think they save their bullets to rule against Trump’s agenda on the things that they perceive to matter most. That’s a complete contradiction to what their job is, but I truly believe it.

A Unanimous ruling on this one is surprising

Thread on it.

Wrote the opinion saying reverse discrimination is still discrimination.

all of this:

quote:

#BREAKING: The Supreme Court just ruled UNANIMOUSLY that “reverse discrimination” IS discrimination

In other words, discriminating against someone because they’re white and heterosexual IS illegal under the Civil Rights Act

I can’t believe this had to be litigated at the Supreme Court, but this is a BIG win regardless.

That would outright make DEI hiring illegal as we always thought right?

They're radical, but can't find a way to legitimize discriminating against white people.

I just read an NPR story about this. Pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Discrimination is discrimination.

Has anyone be able to actually prove DEI hiring? I’ve only seen vague accusations.

Is the term discrimination reserved for certain races? Would it not all just be considered discrimination?

It's a scary and sad time in our country when people are surprised that any judiciary ignored their personal opinions and ruled on what the actual law is.

Just about every publicly traded company has been flaunting their DEI goals and quotas the past 5-10 years. They should all be pretty worried right now.

Any white person who has applied for a job but wasn't selected at a company with publicly advertised DEI goals probably has a case at this point.
