Ticket sales radio commercials make this team even more like a joke.

Radio blast commercials are focusing on selling 12 game plans to come see superstar players and playoff contenders. It’s an absolute joke that we have to sell coming to see the Lakers to get people in the building.

Every team in the league offers various ticket flex packages. This is not unique to the Pels.

Lakers fans put money in Gayle”s pocket. It is like that in other cities too. Lots of people want to see LeBron.

This strategy isn’t anything new. A bunch of teams in the league do this too.

Hell, I remember in the early years, they would promote in the Times Picayune that they would give away club tickets if you literally just stopped by the old A1 Appliance on Vets at a certain time.

The Pelicans have literally had 12 game plans since they first moved here dumbass

I had season tickets in 2008 in the 300s but had a 12 game plan in the club.

Man I’ve had tickets since Day 1. I’m more than aware they have 12 game packages. It’s just sad that they will never be able to turn the corner and only have to market themselves.

If you truly have had tickets since day 1, you would know this line of advertising is nothing new.

I know it’s not new. The problem is that there isn’t a single mention of our own players in the commercials. They’re not marketed well at all.

It is marketed very well. Those tix packages are for a few select crowds:

Casuals fans

Parents who want to take their kids to see the big-name superstars

Fans who don't want to spend the coin on a full season and would prefer a few games throughout.

What else are they going to do, sell you on watching Zion in street clothes?

They really don't want to bring attention to the massive roster regression over the last 2 years. They certainly can't be running Rapey Fatman ads right now. It's kind of the corner they've painted themselves into. Poor marketing guys and gals are treading water.

Perhaps we can get Julian Wright and Morris Peterson to do us a commercial.

frick that and frick their 12 game package that is advertising to buy tickets to see the Lakers without referencing us.

Just buy on gameday StubHub for $5 if you’re desperate to see Willie and Zion in street clothes.

That sales pitch is league-wide, not just with the Pelicans…

I had season tickets for a few years before having kids. Zero percent chance now I could commit to 41 games, however, if I still lived in the city and this team had a pulse I would easily buy a 12 game package. That’s committing to essentially 2ish games a month. I don’t see how offering something like that is “embarrassing” if anything it shows that the team is accommodating IMO.

That is the current state of things.
Then you will be lucky if the stars even play that night.
