With the upcoming 100th Anniversary of Byrd High School, they’re doing a big ‘Ultimate Reunion’ and charging $100/head for the party. My uncle is coming in from San Antonio to see all of his old friends (the ones that are still alive). My dad and I, who both went to Byrd, aren’t going and have no desire to go.

I see several people I graduated with on a fairly regular basis and I keep up with the ones I cared about on FB. The rest I don’t know or care about what they’re doing.

What say you about High School reunions?

It seems like the folks who usually like going are the ones who enjoyed high school out of many of their phases of life.

I have not been to mine, but I went with my wife to her’s. Just friends catching up.

I did go play in an all class golf scramble one year with my school.
Played golf. Had lunch. Talked to a few people.

Both were fine, but I don’t really go to stuff.

How are all the people I’d never be caught in public with to know I have a Rolex and $100 haircut if I don’t go?

These people peaked in High School and want to redo their one time in life when they felt important.

My 10 year reunion was hey look at me and how successful I am.

My 25 year reunion people were just happy to catch up and no one gave a rat's arse about being successful or not.

I think 5 went to our 50 year reunion, a year late, which was eating dinner together and nothing else.

Never went to one of mine. My senior class was fairly non sociable or close tho for some odd reason. Had more friends a year ahead or behind.

I don’t have social media so no idea whoever was planning it would even notify me.

My friends skipped our 10 to visit a buddy who moved to NYC.

My 20 is coming up next year, I doubt I’ll attend. I went to a relatively small school (~100 in my graduating class), I see and talk to the handful of people that I want to keep up with on a regular basis.

Mine seem to be mostly the people who stuck around hometown and still hang together. I continue to pass.

We just had our 20 year reunion. I was impressed with how good everyone looked. Of course, all of the frick-up losers weren't there
