What’s a good place to stay in Chattagnooga on way to Pigeon Forge?

Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel.

30 miles before Chattanooga on 59. Great views and right by where the hang gliders go off Lookout Mtn.

If just a 1 night stay check out the Westin downtown. Really cool walkable area around with great restaurants (Easy Bistro, St. John, short walk to Community Pie). Very close access to I-24. Nice bar.

Anywhere downtown near the river

Westin is a good suggestion. People like the Edwin downtown, but the walking bridge next to it is under renovation for the next year+. The rooftop bar there (Whiskey Thief) is nice

I agree on this. We stayed at the new hotel there (not in a train car) and it was nice and central. Staying there again when we go back to pick up our son from camp. This time maybe in a train car for fun.

Family or just a couple? If just a couple, the Chanticleer Inn at the top of Lookout Mountain.
River View Inn on the way up Lookout Mountain is another good spot, but more rustic (and cheaper) that Chanticleer.

Who is your travel group? For adults the Reade House is a very cool old hotel, I like staying there. 14 year old me would not have cared. You want a pool for kids that age. As kids any Hampton or HOliday Express with a pool was way cool.

Thanks for the bump…. Which is better with 10 year old kids? Choo Choo or Westin? Figure we’ll leave early enough to have a few hours in the late afternoon/evening and the next morning to let the kids do something fun

I don’t know the city at all. I suggested a place above that’s on the mountain south of town but it didn’t seem to go over well (I guess because it’s not downtown). So I will defer to the experts.
That said, it is a very cool place for the view, stargazing, watching the hang gliders, and fire pit, etc. But it’s obviously not in the city.
Safe travels.
