We want an end to the funding of Ukraine. Trump wants to go a step further.

And completely end the war. I get wanting to stop the war, since we were the main driving force behind Ukraine even staying in the war... and letting it continue.
That shite is gearing up to be a forever war. Even without our funding, Ukraine will still get a little support here and there to continue.. and Russia will most likely continue to make slight movements, ensuring that while limited actions are taken by either side, the war will continue for several generations.
Idk how trump can end that war. I don't think he can. Russia is like us, and China. Meaning that rather than admit they were wrong on something, they will double down because big countries value their "face" more than anything.
Ukraine also seems like a no go for negotiations. Even though Ukraine has no "face" to speak of, they do have puppeteers who demand zelensky ignore all serious negotiations, and keep going forever.
So I don't see trump succeeding in a complete end to that war. He should just focus on not letting us fund it. Let Europe fend for itself.

Ukraine only has to outlast Putin and with the glacial pace of Russias advances I believe they will.

Barring Putin dying from stroke or other natural causes, the Russians have every advantage in a stalemate.
Even if we offered full-throated support of Ukraine militarily, they saw the Afghan pull out.... they can wait us out too.
