Actually, it appears that Trump has come to realize that the only way to end the war is to pressure Putin. Zelenskyy has shown that he will participate actively in peace negotiations. Meanwhile, Putin won’t negotiate in any meaningful way, and he treats Trump like a servile boy. The only surprise about Trump’s shift is why it took so long.
Trump has a real opportunity here if he can pressure Russia enough to get a meaningful peace deal.
