It’s not happening BUT it is opening the door for USA and Alberta to form an amazing and healthy relationship compared to the relationship we have had with them for the past decade

You realize that they have had plans in place to bolt since the early nineties…right?

In short, they just needed something to kick start the scenario.

Quebec’s referendums were why they devised their exit plan back in the day. However, that meant them lobbying the US to become a member state.

Now, they may have a much more welcoming ear on this side of the border.

I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but the pathway is more of a possibility at this point than ever before.

Well, one of two things will happen: either the Alberta folks abandon their cause, or the PM will have to send troops like with the Truckers and put them down.

Honestly, talk is just noise when it comes down to the big stuff. Raw brute force has always determined the rise and fall of Nations and cultures.

From what I have read, 70% of their people really want to become part of the USA. In order to get this vote on the ballot, they only need like 150k signatures which is an automatic YES vote

They may try but will never get the House and Senate to approve it,
What they can do is declare independence and Trump recognizes them as a sovereign country and appoints an ambassador with an embassy.
Then they can align themselves constitutionally close to the US, while signing a mutual defense agreement with a secure border guarantee.
Once that border is deemed secure from Canada you can have an open border as we had at one time with Canada.
Zero taxes or tariffs.
It would become a defacto state with no voting rights.

Odds are that independence does not happen. But the Alberta Independence movement has a fighting chance. According to this 51% want the Albertan government to come up with a detailed plan on independence for Alberta. And that is just as the independence campaign is starting.

let’s be completely honest.

you have no fricking clue, neither do i. the difference is, you’ll whine and cry even if the outcome is a positive one for the US and/or Alberta. Because after all: OMB > logic.

They can enjoy their own country if they want.

They should never under any circumstances be a State.

I would imagine there are a substantial number of people throughout western nations who do not support what the “liberal world order” has evolved into being and where the global elites are wanting to take us all.

Where people still have a voice at this time, we may expect to see more serious attempts at finally saying “enough!”

Whether it’s ultimately successful is anyone’s guess as the western global elites seem well coordinated overall and show no inclination to give up their power or control over the rest of us.

We were fortunate enough to apply the brakes with the election of DJT but if a Dem or (unlikely) a Bush style RINO is back in the WH by ‘28, we’ll be right back on the path to eventual authoritarian control and ruin ourselves.

They are more conservative than the majority of American states. Alberta has been using the Trump game-plan with bypassing their state run media to get their word out. They are very pro MAGA.

I think they will end up like a Puerto Rico in my opinion
