This is insane. $7k a month per person just to house the homeless in hotels. Bend over, California taxpayers.

quote:

The adopted budget is mostly the same as the mayor’s proposed budget, other than the aforementioned staffing changes and a $7 million cut to the mayor’s “Inside Safe” program that places homeless individuals in hotels.

Homelessness spending still is nearly $1 billion, with $107 million still appropriated for the Inside Safe program that City Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez, who with Councilman John Lee joined Park in voting against the budget, said continues to be exorbitantly expensive.

“Inside Safe currently spends upwards of $7,000 a month to house a single individual,” said Rodriguez at the meeting. “That’s just room and board and services.”

At $7,000 per individual per month, Inside Safe costs have decreased significantly since 2023, when the program cost $17,000 per individual per month.

I don't understand why red states don't take a page from our friends down south that emptied their asylums and prisons for us, and ship all their homeless to LA. They'll get all those benefits plus great weather and beaches.

So basically, some Democrat donors are going to be getting $7000 a month for every homeless person they put up in a roach motel.

84 thousand a year per homeless person. It might not cover the amount of damage these people would do to a building.

How long till a homeless person makes the olave they are staying uninhabitable?

If the use certain drugs the residue from doing those drugs in the room can reach toxic levels.

The simple fact is of they stop taking drugs provide housing. If they don't nothing you do can help them.

Hell for 100k a year place them in a lock down treatment facility.

And if they refuse that leave them alone. You can't help them.

So $6800 a month to the city council and $200 per tent spot in the city park for the homeless.

This is ridiculously low.

Have you tried to feed and house a family of four for $7000/month?

Needs to be doubled at least.

Oh no, Bel Edwards expanded the Medicaid rolls to make Louisiana the homeless, worthless leech capital of the south. Every southern state is trying to make their states unattractive to freeloaders but not Louisiana. We want more leeches to hopefully get pennies on the dollar from DC.

People will read this, and yet still argue that the rest of the country relies on California.

not one red cent of federal taxpayer money should be available to any locale that permits such nonsense.

AND - I'd go further - IF they have the means to fund that sort of spending outrage, they CERTAINLY are wealthy enough to NOT NEED one red cent of taxpayer money.

FUND IT YOURSELF = if you can shovel 14 billion $$$ into that nonsense you certainly do not need any help if funding other public necessities.

And if it is a NECESSITY then surely you are not wasting any money on such idiotic bullshite.

I didn't make that in a yr serving in La National Guard, for 11 drills plus a 20+ Day Summer Camp in the woods of Ft Polk.

My entire military career earnings total wouldn't pay for 5 minutes of a Tranny Soldier's Reassignment Surgery.

Dems hate normal native God fearing WASP Americans.
