Thinking about going with the family later this afternoon into the evening. Anyone here go this year? Worth going for a few hours? Would like to stay for one of the evening shows. Is it advisable to bring a sheet to sit on?

Which town are you talking about?

There are several really fun Greek festivals all around the country year-round.

It’s a great family festival. Bring a picnic blanket and get there early to snag a nice spot by the band.

This. I’ve had some great memories over the years sitting near the bayou drinking red wine

Went last night. It’s one of the best festivals out there. I go every year. Be sure to catch one of the traditional dancing performances inside the Hellenic center.

Blankets are good, but I’d suggest bringing chairs. You can spend a long time enjoying the music, food and weather.

It’s fun. And safe. You should go.

I try to go every couple years.

My only complaint is that it’s usually hot as frick and you’re mostly outside.

I live in the area and go 2x or so when I’m in town.

I’ll be there tonight. Usually get there around 5 so that the temp is starting to go down. Finding shade is extremely difficult.

Def bring a blanket.

The lines for gyros outside can be outrageous. The line inside moves quick.

They underprice bottles of wine in my opinion so that’s the best deal. Go inside for it. Line is shorter. Don’t get the Retsina wine unless you’re very familiar with it, trust me

Probably bring folding chairs. Ground might be wet

Did you find it much less crowded than usual? I was shocked to wait less than 10 minutes to get the lamb.

Albasha is okay, but not Greek. Albasha and Serops are more generically “Mediterranean”.

Go to Zorba’s if you want something more authentic.

Maybe the threat of rain kept some people away. But I came early so the lines hadn't gotten yet.

My only beef is that I had to go in three different lines to get a gyro, a goat burger, and feta fries. And the wine line was very long. They need at least one more alcohol booth, maybe two.

Pro tip: Whatever alcohol you plan to buy, buy two to save you another wait in line. Buying a bottle of wine? Buy two. You’re welcome.

Watch where you park on Wisner, I got a parking ticket there last year.

Other than that, highly recommended.
