I’m not sure what comes next. F my effing shitty life.
Update: found an Ace hardware in Metairie that had one (1) capacitor in my size on a Sunday morning. Swapped it out, now we coolin. Thanks for the insight, OT.

Check the cap, if it's bad you might be able to one day ship from online and have cool air again by Sunday whilst saving an arse load of money from an HVAC guy doing the same thing.

Over the course of my long life (thank God) I’ve had a half dozen water heaters go out. Always on a weekend and about 2 or 3 months after the warranty goes out. I feel your pain.

I think Lowes or HD stocks the common size capacitors.

I’m sorry to hear this OP, I guess we all gotta get got. If it makes you feel any better I’m on a long bad luck streak with house stuff. I’m convinced it’s just like baseball, gotta go the other way at some point.

I've got spare caps waiting on that day. And breakers.

Fate has called upon you to take up the wonderful memorial day sales at Lowes or Home Depot.
Bow down to your capitalistic overlords on this holiday weekend
ETA: Had septic tank issues the night before my family came in for my kids bday party
$800

I don't know how you could live in south Louisiana without a few window shakers for back up for A/C outages or power outages. My modestly sized Generator can easily run 3 window units and they kept our 2500sf house cool, they probably could freeze out our current house.

Very glad that I no longer live in an area where I need the AC this early.
