The tribalism is so out of control and ignorant.

We were all cheering DOGE and the cuts they were teeing up for Trump/Congress.
Everyone has been screaming about smaller govt, less spending, lower/no deficit.
Now Trumps budget reinstates all those DOGE cuts spending and increases the size of the govt adds trillions to the debt and people are pissed that R's voted "no"
The flip flopping tribalism "it's ok if our guy does it" but I don't really care about principles is ridiculous.

This thread will be either ignored or you’ll have a couple people twisting themselves into Gordian knots to explain how we can’t cut spending overnight and we will be able to implement some spending cuts somewhere around 2073.

Now you’ve got freedom caucus members being called traitors for wanting them included.

Okay.
What would you suggest they do?

You’ll get downvoted by the zealots, but it’s absolutely a thing.
Nobody will take on the issues that are really killing us but are political suicide, namely entitlements and medical spending.
They are all cowards.

Been saying it all along.
Was called a troll for it and suspended for a couple of weeks but it is true.
Politics is simply: if my guy does it, it's ok ...
That will always never not be true. That being said, I still am glad Trump is President over the alternative.

Expecting career politicians to fix our broken system is ridiculous... Honestly, our system is broken to the point, that the only "fix" is to tear it all down and start over...
Also, most of the R's that voted no did so because they had the top cover of passage of the bill... Very few on the R side are voting against their political interests and what keeps them in power....

I guess human nature but I don't like it. Term limits could help this stuff.

I view this as a baseline to get us out of the continuous CR loop. Let the DOGE cuts be separate bills so that the public really understands how bad it was.

100% agree...but we can expect and demand more from him and the R's when they are in office.

Probably would but there again, the career politicians are not going to vote for something that could cut them off their gravy train...
Quite honestly, reforms to stop them from being enriched by lobbyists and insider trading would go a long way as well...

DO WHAT THE frick THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DO. It's not hard.

The focus appears on passing the bill versus the content in the bill.

My favorite was the guy who said we can't make real cuts because mid-terms are right around the corner.

I think we are going to need a bigger majority in congress before anything substantial can be done.
Now you get 3 or 4 guys that can hold up the entire thing for ransom. There is no way Trump will get anything major through in his term unless Republicans 'win bigly" at mid terms.

Question, as I haven't looked.
Is this budget balanced/deficit neutral?
