Being loud at graduation

Why do “some people” feel the need to excessively scream, jump up and down and act like they were born in a zoo during graduation? Do they not realize there are kids before and after theirs and they ruin it for others? Why so much, do they think this is the best their kid is ever going to do?

This is the kind of thing that I truly believe really deserves serious discussion by fair minded, smart people.
Meanwhile, let us discuss it here. (Again)

So celibrating an accomplishment is frowned upon now? And in a big arena, little jonny that comes after my relitive can still hear there name and family cheering for them. In fact, i like to clap and give some loud applause to everyone just in case there family cant attend, incarceration, death, or the like. Graduation should be a party, especially for the proud momas, dads, and lucky family members attending!

Funny thing is the administration at the one I attended made a point to ask parents to hold all applause and celebrations until all names were called. I guess they should just have the police escort them out next year.

I don't think it needs to be excessive, but do you want it to just be quiet?
Was just at one in the cajun dome. It was loud, plenty of noise made for almost every name called, and never had a problem hearing anything said over the speaker.
People have always made noise at graduations and they always will. You must have been at a small ceremony with someone just ridiculously loud or something, to have started a thread about it. Maybe you can elaborate more.

I counted twenty air horn blasts at my kids HS graduation ceremony this week.

No elaboration needed. Asked to hold applause and ignored. Celebrate if you must but don’t ruin it for the family whose kid is next. Just be civil, if you must scream Shamikas name then time it so you don’t cover up the next kids name. I even noticed some with the same last name and not a peep was made until the third cousins name was called, so they understand why you shouldn’t.

Its worthy of discussion as far as a cultural thing, but there's no mystery here.

Some people are very disrespectful of others. Ironically, those are usually the ones who get the most upset when others disrespect them.

If you had paid more attention in English class, you would understand part of the issue better.

Didn’t have time to be loud. I was filming from 100s of ft away on my grainy phone so I could go home and never watch my video again.

Some of them scream just to be heard. At my son's graduation this week, there was a section of people that screamed over and over through the entire ceremony. Most people kept it as a shout for their kid but others were incessant. There are definitely differences in culture. And the person that pointed out about the kids before and after them is right. Many many names couldn't be heard due to the screaming idiots.

It’s called decorum, look it up.

You think the people who have a 75+% of having children out of wedlock are even capable of foresight or planning like that?
