Mike Johnson, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, has said he has reached agreement with Republican holdouts over the state tax deductions that have proved an obstacle to Donald Trump’s showpiece fiscal legislation.
Johnson said he would take the $3tn-plus bill to the floor of the House of Representatives, where the Republicans have a slim 220 to 213 majority, as soon as Wednesday.
“We plan to do it tonight if possible,” he said.

To earn the votes of a handful of Republicans in New York, New Jersey and California, Johnson offered to raise the Salt deduction cap to $40,000 with certain income limits.

It will pass with 219 votes, with Massie being an automatic NO and voting with Democrats.
MJ needs 219 for this to pass, I believe. Can anyone confirm?

I wish they would vote on individual issues. I fricking hate these large bills. If a clause doesn’t have “cut” in it, then it should be removed. Tax cuts and budget cuts should be the only thing that gets voting for.

More endless spending. Now all we need is a regime change war with Iran and Trump can cement his legacy as GWB part 3.

This bill is a flying fricking turd that will increase increase spending, decrease tax revenue, balloon the deficit, benefit blue states with high taxes and correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t incorporate the majority of the doge cuts. This isn’t what I voted for but par for the course.

It’s how they hide things.

Massie is a narcissistic non pragmatic politician. He hides behind his self proclaimed conservatism. If he truly cared about what he says he does he would understand that he has to learn to run the marathon. Just saying no all the time is producing nothing

Massie has a lifetime Heritage score of 84.
The average of all Republicans is 74.
Yeah. Fake conservative.

The problem with that is timing. Mid Terms are around the corner. Otherwise yes it would be nice to do that.

Has Thomas Massie published his bill and what cuts he wants to make?

Agree, but it’ll be too late by the time we realize the extent the tax payers just got F’ed.
They’re trying to pass this at 1am according to Bannon.
People don’t pass great bills at 1am.
People pass terrible bills they don’t want people to have a chance to react to at 1am.

You are right. He is a great no voter. He is lucky his party doesn't kick him out like the Democrats.
