Netflix - Untold: The Fall of Favre

Decent watch but the race angle felt forced and disingenuous, but I guess I should have expected that with Jemele Hill being involved.
I assume this is why Michael Vick was randomly in the documentary to allude that black QBs go to jail for their alleged crimes and white QBs don't because I don't remember Vick and Favre having any sort of connection at all.
I also didn't really buy Sterger's story that she didn't intentionally leak the Favre story to Deadspin. I would have thought Favre's struggles with pain pills would have been highlighted more in his "fall" than trying to hook up with Sterger.

I've been interested in watching this, thanks for saving me some time by giving me the heads up that Jemele Hill is involved

I thought it was good and the race stuff was dumb, but I guess most of Mississippi's welfare is to blacks. The only reason to have Hill do anything is for race reasons.
Farve seems like a jock that never grew socially past high school.
I was shocked he never even met Sterger.

Seems accurate from what I have heard. Most stories of him at or around USM involve him being a drunken a-hole.

The random highlighting of a confederate flag on a Mississippi dive bar and then going to a shot of a Favre poster hanging in the bar was some of the most obvious race-baiting bullshite I've ever seen and made me discount pretty much the whole documentary.

No one can frick up a potentially great doc like Netflix…which is kind of ironic since they’re the ones who really helped push documentaries up a bit
Most of the Untolds have been disappointing especially if you even have surface level knowledge of the subject, they’ve often failed to bring any new information

Jemele says that welfare shouldn’t be going to white folks

Gotta be honest, this shite will never make me dislike Favre. Oh well, as if a shite ton of that welfare money isn’t actively being stolen on a smaller individual scale by so many “deserving” recipients.

I know a younger guy who worked out with Favre when he working on an NFL return. At the time, this kid was playing mid level college football- WR. He said the first set of passes were hard but not crazy, then Favre said I’m gonna put a little extra on the next ones. He told me you could hear the ball whistle and the first one smacked him in the face.

A whole hell of a lot of white folk in Mississippi below the poverty line too.
In fact, more white people in MS receive SNAP benefits than black people I believe.

This is true all over the South. It's true that a higher percentage of African Americans live in poverty and receive welfare. But if we are talking about the number of welfare recipients and amount of welfare dollars going to a particular race, far more is going to white southerners.
