Because there are at least 2-3 justices who only vote based on their political beliefs and not based on what the law says

Its politics 101. They already knew the outcome. It gives them a chance to "hold their positions" while it was overturned. Sotomayor probably played this card. Jackson is just an idiot.

The two worst ones. I don't wish ill health or death on anybody, but I would pray in a heartbeat for some scandal which would force these two scumbags to resign.
Of course, the black one probably wouldn't even be phased by a legitimate scandal. We already have a black Congresswoman who "married" her brother to come here illegally, but nobody will even touch that.
EDIT - This vote highlights what I've been saying about Kagan. While I wouldn't have nominated her for SCOTUS in a million years, nonetheless she's 2-3 notches above these two idiots as a judge.

Yup she's a highly intelligent woman who has a very different world view than I do.
