I’ve seen enough of these over the years to know that he was going to flip it over, so once he did the line down and the smear of color in the bottom right, my brain was able to piece together the negative space. Always very cool to see those compositions get built.

That’s pretty awesome…
I’m amazed by those artists who paint upside down, then see the finished work when they flip it…
The finishing with the flag makes it even better at the end…
