Is The Resident worth watching?

Me and the wife really enjoyed The Pitt and happened across this show on Netflix last night. We watched the first two episodes and liked them ok, not as much as The Pitt but good enough. I just noticed it is 6 seasons and over 100 episodes so that’s a big commitment for something that’s just ok. Also was this a network show or a streaming original? I haven’t watched a network show in years that I actually liked.

I thought it was a pretty good show. Like most you have to suspend belief. I've never gone into an ER and had 2 doctors waiting on me.

We enjoyed it......it's a bit unrealistic of course, but definitely worth watching.

The early seasons were pretty good. Always had a thing for Emily VanCamp. Even though she's an ultra liberal.

Wife and I liked the first two seasons enough. She's an MD so she got pretty annoyed about how they let residents do whatever they wanted without supervision the majority of the time. Season 3 we forced ourselves through. Season 4 went off the rails for us and quit watching.
Many more light hearted moments than The Pitt

I really liked it, and I don't regularly watch hospital shows. I got a small laugh out of all the extremely rare conditions were found in that one hospital and how they needed Conrad to diagnose. Some will complain about it. I thought it was a feature.

We are about halfway through S3 and it definitely has some forced drama and over the top plot lines. We still enjoy it and will most likely see it through the end; but we also don't watch episodes every night.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like we will give it a shot.

This is pretty much what I thought as well. I'm a hospital CFO and it required a lot of suspension of belief, but other than that, the characters were pretty good. I quit watching after season 4 as well. Too much craziness that season.

It's a fun watch, super easy to blast through 10+ episodes at a time
