According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the New Orleans Pelicans may not trade Zion Williamson anymore.

“One of the more underrated and undercovered storylines of last Monday’s lottery: The Pelicans asked Zion Williamson to be their on-stage representative,” Stein wrote. “It didn’t lead to anything more than New Orleans scoring the seventh overall pick, but league sources insist that it was a significant development.

“Amid no shortage of speculation about the Pelicans deciding to outright shop Williamson for the first time after six frustration-filled seasons, sources say that the lottery assignment was indeed intended to convey the message that New Orleans’ new front office, now headed by Louisiana native Joe Dumars, wants to try again to make things work with Williamson as the team’s centerpiece.”

You just KNOW that 30 or so of these games next year are gonna be so sick, probably like 16 of em at home! I wonder if we can find the vegas odds for which games are gonna be the illest so that we know which ones to attend together?! If we can pinpoint them so that all the fans can attend just those games, we can really save a lot of wasted time and money here. Think about it. If we knew the only ones worth going to, the price for those games would be driven up astronomically. Season ticket holders could make all their money back and some by selling just a few games. Only the rich will be in attendace for those as theyll price us out, so non season ticket holding fans might not have to attend games at all knowing the result of the non-premiums. Gayle still makes all her money she's in the black. We can sell the broadcasting rights to the bad games to Mongolia too. We aintaren't finna tryna watch dat, yknowm saying

Yep. Some fans will keep holding out hope that things are going to change though.

Trading him right now makes little sense.

No one will give us 75 cents on the dollar for him, which is the best you can hope for (multiple firsts/average starter)

If you're done with him like I am, you have to hope he lights it the frick up through the asb before the trade deadline then make your move when his value is far more substantial.

But if hes healthy and playing well we're probably winning too much for that to happen.

We're stuck with this motherfricker

I’ve been “Trade Zion” guy for a while but I think it makes more sense to keep him now. You put all those years into him under Griff, it makes zero sense to put so much time, effort, and money into something and then ship it out when there’s someone new in charge.

Do I think anything will change? No, I don’t. But you may as well be sure of that at this point

If he stays he will play around one-third of the time. Definitely not more than half the time.

The people wanting to trade Zion right now are just foolish. You’d be trading him for about 25 cents on the dollar. Wait and if you still want to trade him let him put in a couple months of solid work. There’s no chance we get anything even close to Zion in return though, that just wouldn’t happen.

Welp, I won't be attending any games this year. We'll see how many I watch, but I'm about 99% done with this franchise. They aren't serious and don't deserve fans.

He is a net negative to the franchise. I want him as far from our locker room as possible. He is a loser with a loser mentality.

Silver eventually steps in and forces the trade imo. Nola and his representation has babied him, based off the data and news from the media. Him sitting is simply preserving his strength and speed for someone else.

I feel like the Pelicans are Diddy and we're just Cassie.

What we’ve seen from Zion for 6 years will continue….

No changes.

Gayle can continue to ignorantly give Zion tens of millions of dollars ….but she can waste her deceased husbands money any way she wishes I guess.

I mean , she’s still paying Loomis so we need to question her sanity.

Fight for Baylor kid if he falls to 6 or 7. If not trade back, get duke center or Florida guard if not both.

Herb should be untouchable unless it’s a blockbuster move with cj and Zion included. Trey and herb owning the wing is more of a foundation than Zion staying healthy.

Arroyo, cj, hawk are currently projected to eat up the majority of guard minutes. Something to think about.

Dumars has to not allow injury chairs!

Y'all are acting like this is news.

As I have said several times, this is quite obviously the main reason that Dumars was brought on board: to hold Zion accountable and help him realize his potential. It doesn't mean that it will work, but it's obviously the intent. It was always clear that Zion wasn't getting traded unless he wanted out.

People won’t like to hear it but for Zion we could probably get starters who are high level role players and late first round picks. These will do nothing for us. The smart move is just to keep trying with Zion. Nothing we get back for him will do anything for us in the long term.
