I for one would love to see it
And if there is a cant miss number 1 the fans would actually get excited to go and root against their team

They know NBA owners have no scruples and dgaf about playing to win to the end, so we get a shitty lottery

That was basically the Trust The Process strategy.
I get the reason for the lottery, but the odds of what happened this year are crazy.
The worst 5 teams need to have an equal 18% chance of winning the lottery and teams 6-9 should have 0.5%. No way should a team like Dallas get a top 4 pick.
Or maybe the worst 4 go into a lottery for picks 1-4 and the next 4 teams go into a lottery for picks 5-8.

Or just show the process happening live like the NHL.

Used to be that way, circa 1984.

Tanking, however, can work in the NBA. Individual players have turned around organizations. Robinson then Duncan made the Spurs.
It's MLB that should use the NFL model, including revenue sharing.

The lottery didn’t start until 1985. I remember the Houston Rockets fans cheering for losses so they could draft ralph sampson number 1. They sucked again and drafted Akeem Olajuwan number 1 the next year.
Then the nba started the lottery and rigged it so the knicks could draft patrick ewing.
The lottery is what the league owners want

Maybe the nfl should do the nba way can you imagine the backlash. Chiefs get top pick only 1.4% chance but "its not impossible. They got lucky!"

Hornets fan never said that when they won the lottery TWICE.

Why would the best team be in the lottery?

Some of the biggest lottery winners in recent times is as follows
New Orleans and San Antonio
Nothing like rigging it for those juggernaut markets everyone always says the media fawns over

Who cares? When you’re several dozen games out first place what’s a couple of wins?

Don't forget Cleveland. I know it's been 20+ years, but they have had multiple #1s in addition to the Lebron one.
It makes no sense, especially considering the "It's rigged" CT started due to pushing Ewing to the Knicks, for obvious reasons.

LeBron being from Ohio and a generational talent and obvious #1 overall pick and then the Cavs getting the pick the year he leaves are both conspiratorial.
Didn’t NOLA get AD after they lost Paul and then got Zion after losing AD?
I don’t think it’s so much which markets get the #1 overall pick, it’s when they get it.

Why would the nba give a shite about giving Nola Zion and AD?
Why give San Antonio Duncan? Why give them Wemby?
Why give Charlotte so many 1s?
