Jeff Duncan also chimed in and said outright this was a negotiated financial decision between Carr and Saints

Carr WOULD HAVE stuck it to the Saints and got his money if he could have. I never bought the Carr's did a wonderful thing for us bullshite optics. That just is not reality.

Derek Carr is at the end of the road. I’m sure his shoulder is hurt but that’s not the only reason he retired. He’s run out of options. No one wants him as their starter, therefore he can either be a back up or retire. Called it

I mean, Tucker is probably right.

The Saints made it known that they could make this very very difficult for him given the suspicious nature of "discovering" the injury

How many times has an NFL QB started for 10+ years just to agree to go on as a backup QB, especially on a new team.

Flacco comes to mind, of course he kept going to places where he could compete to try and start. Anyone else come to mind?

And with the way Carr works, I don't see him being that type of guy; if this was the plan. He may put some feelers out there for teams in need of a vet, but if he doesn't have a front runner shot at starting, I think he stays retired.

I would bet heavy money that Carr hasn’t played his final snap in the NFL

Have any of the other Saints players given their thoughts on his retirement??

Or at least that he's no longer going to be with the team?

I’m not a medical expert so I’m not sure we know exactly how bad his shoulder is.

He may wait a year and see how his shoulder does without surgery and see how it responds.

Plenty of qbs will not play up to standard next year, so he may have a shot at starting again if he’s able.

I was looking at Carr’s instagram, a bunch of former raiders were congratulating him and he was putting it in his stories. Only Saints player I saw shouting out Carr was Taysom Hill

Its more conniving bullshite he should be raked across the coals for.

There is no way in frick the Saints would have re-done his contract if they knew about his shoulder .

Carr lied. frick him forever.

Yeah I wouldn't say that's a coincidence

I was never really pumped up that he was our starting quarterback. But still I watch the games and still was hoping for good things to happen. But to me the moment where he went totally Rudy poo candy arse was after the falcons game when we beat them at the Superdome.

The whole shout out to DA for help building this thing completely made me not like the guy as a leader.

No doubt a couple of the other players saw what he had said. I think he may have been the only player ever to do that. I mean to give him props in any kind of way as a head coach.

Not a doctor either but if the reports were correct and it's also a degenerative shoulder issue that would seem ro rule out playing again.

I’ve seen several. Moreau annd hill off the top of my head. Numerous high profile players have “liked” his wife’s congratulatory post about his first day of retirement.

I said 10+ years
That is a great catch, can't forget I forgot about the fan favorite (still odd saying that about Winston).

I 100% believe this. No other explanation makes sense.
