May be worst idea of the 21st century, but it’s early yet.

So damn annoying with no real energy savings gained.

Pure virtue signaling.

A huge placed on the public. Save gas, maybe, but it takes more fuel to start an engine than it does to feed the engine. Plus starting an engine moves more parts which can lead to earlier break down times. Horrible idea from the outset.

The BMW 540i X-Drive I own has a button to turn that 'feature' off.

Now take off all diesel emmisions and ban the stupid ultra low Sulphur processing that spikes the cost of road diesel $1 more per gallon than gas.

Inflation would plummet if diesel was cheaper than 87 octane again.

Does that button have to be pressed each time the car is started? That’s been my experience.

how does it not add wear and tear on your starter, battery and engine?

It absolutely does.

They claimed modern starters could handle it but wear and tear happens far more extensively at start up because oil isn’t being circulated and when it kicks back on at a stop light people are immediately mashing the gas to get going instead of being able to idle it to let the oil circulate again prior to applying the throttle.

They all do, but there needs to be a way to permanently disable it.

All cars have a button where you can turn it off. But it’s the perfect example of how regulations drive up the cost of cars.

If you have trouble with this, then you’re hitting the gas way too quickly after lifting off the brake anyway.

Chill for like 3 seconds after lifting off the break and your car won’t stall.

Yeah most vehicles including the BMW this “feature” can be turned off.

Any vehicle that doesn’t good luck in traffic or a long light in 100 degree temperatures as it obviously affects the temperature without the engine running.

Worst “feature” of all time.

Why the frick should anyone be forced to “chill” for 3 seconds when the light turns green? Some turn signals have a very short window before they switch back to red or become a yield. How many lights do the rest of us have to miss because you can’t get that piece of shite moving when the light turns green?

The tuner I installed on my truck allowed me to turn it off permanently and that was the main reason I installed the tuner.

Screw that. All cars also have an off and start button. You want to turn it off and on every time you stop—go ahead and do it. Leave the rest of the world with common sense alone.

All the parts that need oil are already wetted and it's not going to dissipate during a red light. It's an annoying as hell feature and it puts unnecessary wear on the starter, but it's not hurting the engine any.

it should be left as a nuisance reminder to every American that when Democrats are in charge they will fricking sell you out and do everything they can to undermine the American worker, and it should be a warning at every single fricking red light.

If you vote democrat going forward after exposing what they are over the last few years, you are a morally inept piece of shite human being and you should be forced to house and support an illegal immigrant for 4 years, the amount of time it took Brandon and Kamala to burn our country to the ground.
