It's just like TDS, except it's Pope Derangement Syndrome.

There are several of you who have known who Pope Leo is for about ten seconds and are already buying all the media BS about him hook, line, and sinker. You don't do any research for yourself. You don't even wait to see how he's actually going to lead.

Oh, some people think accuse him of hiding a pedo? Well, if he was accused of it, it must be true! Just like all those women Trump raped! What's that? It was an underling who authorized that priest without his knowledge? And the journalist who broke the "story" has a long history of bias against Catholic leadership? Oh, never mind that! Hang him anyway!

You see some retweets and a headline or two, and you just put him in a little box that your little minds built for people who don't see the world exactly like you. You are really dumb enough to think you've got him all figured out already. Why? Because you are driven just as insane by popes as leftists are by Trump.

As a Trump-supporting Catholic, I can tell you that it's the exact same thing. Progressives do not give Trump any grace. They can't bring themselves to believe that, gasp, the narratives about him are not representative of reality. They stretch his inadequacies thin to cover the rest of him without ever considering that that might be missing the bigger picture.

If you suffer from PDS, please get help. It's not good for you.

LOL Pope Pedo has literal posts on X that you can read. Those are real.

It has been known for decades he helped cover up for pedos in his churches, on his watch.

Frick him and frick you.

Another anti-American globalist pedophile was selected. Time to face the fact that your sect is compromised by evil.

He said what he said.

Feel free to introduce new information that contradicts what he’s on record saying.

The new pope tweeted his love and sympathy for a wife beating, human trafficking, illegal criminal. He did that, he can own it.

The new pope tweeted about capitalism being evil and greedy. He did that, he can own it.

The new pope loved and retweeted Democrat Senator Chris Murphy’s tweet demanding gun control and saying prayers were for cowards. He did that, he can own it.

The new pope has a clear, established history of expressing love and sympathy for certain things and certain people like illegal alien criminals while not being moved to express love and sympathy for certain other things and certain other people like victims of sex and violent crimes, especially by illegal aliens.

You can blindly support a guy like that if you want. Me, I’ll take him at his word.

I am taking a wait and see approach. He deserves a chance. But I’m not optimistic.

As a Reformed Protestant, I can’t help but chuckle a little bit at the irony of the division in Catholicism about the recent Popes. One of the weightiest arguments Catholics level at Protestants is our lack of unity (though we believe in a different kind of unity, namely agreement with the ancient creeds of the faith and the solas of the Reformation that summarize the basics of Christianity that all must agree with), and yet I see so many attacks against the supposed head of the church from within its own ranks.

Catholicism has come a long way from the first Vatican Council that formally elevated the position of the Pope to a matter of gospel importance.

This attitude is NOT a symptom of PDS. God bless.

Lol, no. Real Americans just don't like globalists who push 3rd world gangbangers on us no matter what stupid outfit they wear.

Believing in a pope is antithetical to Christ's teachings. Jesus fought against the ecclesiastical class, but Catholics just expanded the religious bureaucracy. Catholic apologists care more about the organization and appearance of the church than actual relationships with God.

Evangelicals will keep us around for political stuff but otherwise, they don't like us much for some reason.

Don't worry, you can just say he's not my Peter, I mean Pope.
It's not like you'd be denying Christ.

I don't give a damn about the pope.

No different than Jimmy Swaggart, Joel Osteen, or Fred Phelps. Same shaman, different church.

He's the Bishop of Rome really which is a big deal for us Catholics. It shouldn't be a big deal for anyone else. The media just makes it into a huge deal.

I get that, i just mean what functionally makes the pope important? What does that guy do on a day to day basis that makes him so significant?
