I answer to the boss (being God), not the Pope. And I am a lifelong Catholic.

Same, except I am a convert. I do look to the Pope for guidance on matters of faith but his guidance is not absolute unless he is speaking ex cathedra which has happened like 2x ever.

I think the Pope would agree.

When does a pope decide to activate his infallibility and why would he ever turn it off?

If he actually answered to God, he wouldn’t teach so much false doctrine

When the church has a dispute that can not be unanimously agreed upon. Then the pope may step in and settle the dispute.
(See Acts of the Apostles, council of Jerusalem)

A) the pope doesn’t turn it on or off
B) the pope only speaks infallibly when the following criteria are met:
Subject Matter: The teaching must pertain to a matter of faith or morals.
Intention: The Pope must clearly intend to teach definitively and bind the whole Church.
Official Capacity: The Pope must be speaking in his official capacity as the successor of St. Peter and head of the Church, not as a private individual or theologian.
Binding Nature: The teaching must be understood as a final and irrevocable definition, meaning all faithful are required to accept it.
Divinely Revealed Dogmas: Infallibility is specifically linked to divinely revealed truths.
No New Doctrines: The teaching cannot introduce new doctrines but rather must explain or clarify existing truths.
There have been two teachings that fit this criteria in the 2,000 year history of the church. TWO!!!

Ex cathedra from God via the HS.

The Pope is just the CEO trying to protect an organization.

I answer to God. The Pope would say the same. I also follow Church teachings and not the “opinions” of any pope. Papal infallibility is rare and has to meet certain conditions regarding declarations of faith. It has nothing to do with political opinions.

Correct. And the number 1 job as CEO is covering up and trying to hide all the pedophilia.

We all answer to Christ, who alone is the Head of His Church.
