Yeah but this bridge helps white people get to the beach so it was excluded from the infrastructure bill. Had to be a racist bridge to be in it

Does this mean it will NOT be a toll bridge, like they were previously suggesting?

A super duper money laundering pork bill.
Have we yet reached the point where we, as a collective national majority, can all openly admit what a fricking absolute disaster Pete Buttplug was as TS? I cannot recall, in my lifetime, any single cabinet member who utterly failed so astonishingly at even the basics of their job. Pete should be thrown in prison, and everything he ever owned should be auctioned off to repay the American Taxpayer.
Even the most staunch progs know it's true. There was a time when they spoke of potential Presidential aspirations for ol Pete, and now they cannot possibly distance themselves from him enough.

Well look like I get to start working on this mess again. I was kind of glad when they ran out of money lol.

Eastern Shore trash voted the bridge down because they cant afford a $1.50 toll

Last I heard, the new Mobile River Bridge is an optional, "express" bridge WITH a TOLL.
Other choices, the Wallace 4 lane I-10 tunnel and the 1940's era Bankhead two lane tunnel from government Street, will remain open for those who don't want to pay the toll
1. The bay crossing on I-10 has a built in bottleneck, its extreme dog leg "turn" into and out of the tunnel gets overwhelmed with almost any extra traffic - always has. The new bridge departs I-10 near Virginia Avenue and rejoins near battleship park.
2. The express lanes of the new bridge will relieve the bottleneck, but you gotta pay (at least the first 10 years). All crossings will give a decent choice.
3. The bridge and the new bayway (highway crossing the bay replacing current bayway) follows national highway guidelines by rebuilding it to 20 feet above MSL from its current 14 feet above MSL which is the old sorm zone requirement for federal highway construction.
have not heard of removal of the toll

I would pay a higher toll just to get on the bridge and touchdown after the bay.

It wouldn’t be so bad if all the out of state drivers didn’t act like fricktards going into the tunnel!

Yep. Everyone from every other state , except Alabama, doesn’t know how to drive.
Got ya.

Maybe, maybe not, but when that tunnel is backed up, you'll spot on awful lot of Texas and Louisiana plates.

What kind of bridge is this going to be?
Posted on 5/7/25 at 2:54 pm to keks tadpole

Now we just have to wait ten years until it is completed.

90 degree turns on an interstate system was never a good idea......you hear me Baton Rouge?

They really need to look at doing a mega-project that adds at least one more lane in both directions for the entire length of 10 (and 12, and redo the fricking 12/55 intersection).

I use the Africatown Bridge anyway
Frick both those damn tunnels

Im not saying we don't have bad drivers, but us locals are used to the tunnel and others are not.. So they tend to hit the brakes for no damn reason and the chain starts. Just saying from my 46 years of living here.
