As a stand alone sci-fi show that's fairly well done, yes.

But it shouldn't be called Foundation because in terms of a show based on the source material its pretty bad.

My favorite apple tv show but i never read the books. Those that have say it isnt a great representation of the source material but that also the book time line is so massive that we would be getting an entirely new cast all the time.

I loved the first season. Season 2 kinda made me lose interest. I'm sure I'll watch this season just to see how it plays out.

Incredible visuals. I love it. Not a book reader so I don't give a shite if they butchered it.

I like Foundation (as a non-book reader)… but not all storylines are equal in quality. I like the palace intrigue with the emperors waaaay more than anything else in the show, for instance.

Oh yeah the palace stuff is great. Lee Pace does such a good job.

Agree with everything said. Non book reader here but loved season 1. Season 2 was very good but some of the storylines dragged. Still looking forward to season three

I read the first two books and still enjoy the show. The books are very close to being unadaptable so I don’t mind that changes were made. They cover such large spans of time that you would need a new cast every few episodes. One of the best changes they made of the show was making Pace the Genetic Dynasty instead of a normal lineage of rulers.

It's a hell of a lot better than Rebel Moon.

Low bar, I know, but it's watchable.

It is pretty good. The problem has been the black girl and her half white daughter(?) storylines. They are awful. Everything else is pretty darn good. They could have just based it on the emperors storyline and it would have been a great show.

If a book reader, this thing is barely like the book at all except at maybe a 10,000 ft viewpoint.

Lee Pace & Jared Harris (from The Expanse) are worth the watch for me.

Lee Pace stole the first two seasons.

As others have said, a strict adaptation would make a very dry show.

Absolutely, I decided to pick up the books to get more background into the world of Foundation and the 10k ft viewpoint is spot on but hoping for something related to a very prominent character for Season 3.

Agree with both of you - the genetic dynasty was an improvement.

As a book reader, I still like the show because the books aren't really that good. They are some of Asimov's weaker output.
