Becaue I would like to have visited a hamam.
nb4 No, but I've been to a gay bathhouse.

A hamam, also known as a Turkish bath, is a type of steam bath or public bathing place associated with the Islamic world, particularly Turkey. It's a form of ritual bathing and cleansing, often used for both religious and social purposes.
Key Features and Practices:
Steam Bath:
Hammams utilize hot steam to induce perspiration and cleanse the body.
Cleansing and Scrubbing:
Visitors typically undergo a full-body wash, including scrubbing with specialized soaps and mitts.
Social Gathering:
Hammams are not just places for bathing; they are also social hubs where people can relax, chat, and socialize.
Gender Separation:
Traditional hammams are often gender-segregated, with separate areas for men and women.
Ritualistic Experience:
The hammam experience is a ritual that involves specific steps and practices.
History and Origins:
Roman Influences:
The hamam's origins can be traced back to Roman thermae, with Turkey popularizing the tradition.
Islamic Culture:
Hammams are deeply embedded in Islamic culture, serving both religious and social functions.
Ancient Traditions:
Archaeological evidence suggests that bathhouses in the Islamic world existed as early as the Umayyad period (7th-8th centuries).

And for that reason, I'm out.
And you are gay.

This sounds just like our locker room at the Y. Once you build a vibrant culture it becomes a destination not just a utility.

If I had to choose between the two, I would visit the soapy bath in Thailand.

Aren’t you required to be all nude in a pool/room with dudes?

I would’ve loved to go to the bath of Caracalla in Rome or any of the great Roman baths.
The Romans would shut down society early afternoon for the baths. Then, lounge and have a long dinner at night. They were up with the sun, but knew how to finish a day. It sounds way better than the rat race we run.

OP must have not been in the military. I say that because no one that spent any amount of time living in barracks would want to go to anything resembling a Turkish bath.

What I was trying to say is I had an aunt and uncle who got a condo as they called it or " cabin "in Hot Springs, and they used to brag about it for years and then one day they happened to post a picture of it and it was a trailer on the side of a hill
