He can flick his wrist and throw it an effortless 40 yards. Not a guy you will worry about playing in weather as he’s got the arm strength to drive the ball through wind, rain or snow. Until we see how he does under pressure against real starting players we won’t know what we really have but he’s got the intangibles you want. Hopefully he’s more mobile than college tape showed. A 6’5” 220 QB that runs a 4.6 40 don’t grow on trees. He doesn’t need to be Jayden Daniels or even Jaxon Dart but if he can pull the ball down and get 7-10 yards when the defense drops back into coverage then that’s all I care about. Shadeur Sanders might very well break the record for most sacks allowed if he becomes the starter in Cleveland he holds the ball so long.

Obviously you have to preform on the field but all of this work from Shough, working with the TEs and WRs, Dragos, press conference praising the city/ fans and saying stuff like he’ll die on the field for NOLA is Tyler dragging his nuts all over Derek.
I don’t think it’s disingenuous or just a PR stunt, IMO he’s making a statement to Carr that he’s the leader of this team.
Carr distanced himself from the team/fan base and Shough is definitely stepping into that void. Again he’ll have to do the on the field stuff but it’s refreshing to see someone being a leader in the QB role.

Yep, he has the arm talent. We will have to see how he reacts under pressure. But he’s done everything correctly at this point on all the off field stuff.
Also, I always wondered why you didn’t hear about Carr throwing to teammates in the offseason. Not sure if it wasn’t covered or he wasn’t doing it.

From what a lot of people have reported it really didn’t happen outside of mandatory team activities.

IMO, Carr's first mistake was coming in and alienating the team with his antics. Carr hasn't ever felt like a good fit here and this is ultimately why I dont want him around.

I don’t think it’s a given Dart runs faster than 4.6.

You mean Carr doing a YouTube video with his douchebag brother on an EV rolls Royce wasn’t endearing to New Orleans and the team?

Are we sleeping on Bub Means as our big body receiver?

See what you have. Way better than paying fat Keenan for a year where you aren’t likely to go anywhere anyway.

Effort. That’s all we’ve wanted. This gets me excited.

Hard to say what we have in Bub because so much of his rookie year was lost to injury. ( yea that’s been a reoccurring theme with the Saints)
He should be given every opportunity to lock down a role and say what you want about his ability. His heart and dedication to the game and getting better at his craft is unquestionable.

I don’t know how he didn’t get more playing time last year. We had guys like MVS and Pettis and Wilson getting more PT than him last year.

The real test will be what happens between his ears with an enormous playbook and pro-level athletes competing against him. The physical tools are definitely already present.

He has the physical traits and seemingly the intangibles. So if they can fix his pressure response he has a chance to be a very good player.
