How the hell does the Philllipines have a population of 115 million?

They hardly have any land. The population must be incredibly dense and highly-urbanized. Also, shame on them for not being more powerful and a bigger player in world affairs with that type of population.
They must be packed like sardines over there, and they must have people sleeping in bunk beds 10 levels high over there.

What? They have 2,000 inhabited islands, and over 7k total. There's a lot of jungle, and Manila didn't seem that much different than a poorer, low rise Tokyo in terms of density.
