Going at the end of August for the Clemson game. What are some good eats there for just me and the wife.

Jianna Italian caught my eye. Nice outside area. Is it too hot in Greenville at the end of August to sit outside?

What else is there?

Greenville is an incredible town with a solid food scene. Lots of threads on this board about it via the search feature.

I know this is a Greenville thread but heads up that Clemson is SMALL.

Tough to get in anywhere on game weekends. Esso Club is fun on gameday and Tiger Town Tavern is worth a stop.

I like

CAMP
Soby's
Carmella's for dessert
Menkoi Noodle House for cheap noodles
Belladina Pizza
Lewis BBQ is also pretty good
Dolce Italy is an excellent Italian bakery

You'll probably get some suggestions for the food hall Gather GVL. The atmosphere is cool but the food is meh in my experience.

If you need to take a piss when walking around downtown, the bathrooms in the Grand Bohemian hotel are excellent.

Group Therapy is a fun place for indoor putt putt.

For an out of town Louisiana restaurant, the lost Cajun on Main is surprisingly good. LSU/Saints/Louisiana motif.

We didn't make it to Jianna, but I noticed it was always packed.

Nearby, The Lazy Goat was good.

Coral (upscale seafood) was very good.

Looks like the Greenville Drive (High A Red Sox affiliate) baseball team is in town that week. Nice park, replica of Fenway complete with green monster, walkable from downtown, reasonably priced concessions.

Plenty of great dining/drinking choices in Greenville.

We stayed at the AC Hotel, and the bar in there was majorly hopping at night.

Grab breakfast one morning at Biscuit Head, I'm actually wearing their t-shirt at the moment.

Biscuit Head

I may be up there for the game, still undecided at the moment.

The Bohemian Cafe
Lewis BBQ (from Charleston, but good)

You hit Lewis in Charleston as well? If so, any difference in the quality of the two?

They are almost identical, I have been to the one in CHS once and the brisket was bad. Been 50x's and excellent every other time, just a bad day or bad cow????? The corn pudding and ribs are get my vote here.

The Halls in CHS is superior to the GVL, Columbia and Summerville locations. The fried green tomato app with the seafood sauce and the brunch rib sandwich are the best thing on the menu. IMO.

You mean the one that only yields results that are less than 15 days old, so it directs you to this page and no others?

Correct way to search this site is go straight to google. Type in what you want + tigerdroppings at the end and you'll get all kinds of good shite.

While this place is a wealth of knowledge, let's not pretend the search function is remotely worth using.

My guess is Greenville was their second location after starting in Asheville. Yes, they are growing their footprint with multiple restaurants.

Pretty much at this point. You can go to Tupelo Honey in Boise, ID and Milwaukee. And I don't find it to be particularly noteworthy. I feel the same about Biscuithead. Tourists love both places though.
