I think I have identified my future ex-wife.

Good. About time.

She's not wrong

I wonder if she knows that Muslims pray to the same god she does.

This is crap.
Either we believe in the 1st Amendment or we don’t.
There are bad interpretations of Islam, and craven manipulators of it. I also believe it’s a religion based on a false prophet and its followers are on the wrong path.
That being said, I don’t want the government in the business of deciding what people worship. Deal with the bad faith practitioners and the ones that persecute people in the name of that religion, but blanket statements like this are simply not American.

Either we believe in the 1st Amendment or we don’t.

But her God doesn’t promise 72 virgins in the promised land for martyring oneself while killing others in say a explosive device

I don't think it's inconsistent with the 1st amendment to say you think Islam is largely incompatible with America and in that sense, should not be culturally accommodated.
I disagree with banning Islam or making life miserable for Muslims simply for identifying as Muslim. But I think the ideal would be a culture and society that is so settled and confident in its core values that Muslims who can't acclimate to that feel very uncomfortable and leave voluntarily. And you can apply that to any other faith/mindset/etc.

I get your point, and I see your distinctions.
Someone running for office using “There is no place for Religion X” goes well beyond making a cultural statement. This is someone wanting to be elected using the idea of removing that religion. Maybe she only means it as a cultural thing, but conflating that with government power is a red line to me.

She's a clown. Personally I like her for her entertainment value, but I don't think she'd be a very good public official.

Fake! She's doing this to get elected. She's probably a devout Muslim and wants to impose shiria law on everyone. I ain't buying it.

Its not inconsistent.. IMO.. if you want to protect the 1st Amendmend (and oh btw the 2nd Amendment too..) you have to act pretty decisively with respect to those who would seek to block the free speech of others...

I just said this in another thread.
White and Hispanic will combat Islam.
Not an opinion. Catholics do what they have to do.

Uh, all over the place?
You don’t solve bad-faith castigation of Christians by promoting the same of other faiths.
