Is it worth sticking with?

I'm 3 episodes in and it's just ok so far.

Plenty of Asian nudity if that's your thing.

It definitely picks up. One of my favorite shows on Max.

Is this an older show? Never heard of it. Who's in it and what's it about?

It's about San Francisco in the 1800s with the Chinese gangs, etc.

It's very good. It's basically a martial arts series.

It is a great show for fighting action, hot ladies and the whole Chinese in the West story. I canceled my Max subscription when HBO didn't renew it.

Yea, kind of a martial arts peaky blinders western. I very much enjoyed the show.

Perfect explanation.

Also has a very Banshee feel.

First 2 seasons done for Cinemax were really good with some funny moments, but I couldn’t finish the 3rd season that was taken over by HBOMax. Big fights didnt have the same energy or humor. Episodes didn’t feel the same, and that is before the gay sex push in season 3 is mentioned.

Maybe extended break was part of energy and a little change in focus as Cinemax’s last episodes premiered in Oct 2020 with story written and original filming done before covid and the summer of love (not sure on reshoots), and Max’s episodes were greenlit in late spring of 2021 and premiered in late June of 2023. It just wasn’t the same for me.
