Who in your opinion had the right to be the King after Robert died? Was it Stannis? Seems the obvious option.

I mean, Robert was a usurper, so we could argue that Danaerys was the rightful heir.

I mean let’s just assume Robert was the rightful king…. Joffrey was a bastard…. Meaning Stannis would be in line

The the correct answer is.... Gendry (from the show).

It wasn’t just that Joffrey was a bastard—he had no blood relation to the king at all. Gendry as the kings actual bastard had a better claim.

There is a reason why they tried to cull every Robert bastard son they could.

Obviously this is fiction, but it doesn't pass sibling to sibling, unless there are no heirs.

Stannis would be sitting in line talking about fewer instead of less - while Gendry is sitting on Iron Throne.

Stannis was the rightful heir

Non-recognized bastards arent in the line of inheritance. Gendry would need to be recognized before he could inherit

Jon was technically the rightful heir, but without his identity being revealed, it's Dany, especially after Renly and Stannis died.

I don't understand the term "userper" here. The Targaryens beat everyone else to become king then Robert beat the Targaryens to become king. What is the difference?

Joffrey
Tommen
Stannis
Renly

But as it worked irl, the real answer is whoever won the inevitable war

Mya Stone is older that Gendry and openly known as Robert's eldest. Kept her in the Vale, after Cersei told not to bring her to Kings Landing.

Since he was the first of his house it had neve been established if they followed absolute primogeniture or agnatic primogeniture.

Jon Snow

Legitimate son of Rhaegar and rightful heir in Targaryen line.

Of course, more realistically, the "rightful" heir to throne in GOT is whoever is sitting on it.
